Although it may be most commonly associated with Italian cuisine, basil actually hails from India and tropical Southeast Asia, having been cultivated for centuries! Its essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and flavonoids make it useful for everything from cosmetic preparations (infuse in oil or vinegar for natural skin care) to household cleaning (use as tea or vinegar solution to make an antibacterial surface spray). Plus, it can also add some flavor to your favorite meals and drinks. Not for uses  if you're on anticoagulant medications.

Mix basil, garlic granules & butter for veggies, potatoes & garlic bread. Basil and oregano leaf to season meats, veggies & Mediterranean stews/soup.
