Slippery elm bark (Ulmus rubra) has a long history of traditional use, first learned by European settlers from Native Americans. The finely cut and sifted inner bark has a naturally mucilaginous texture when steeped, making it a popular choice for soothing teas, salves, and lotions.

This bulk herb is most often used in digestive support blends and for coating irritated throats when brewed as a tea. Its smooth consistency also makes it ideal for skin-care preparations, from herbal poultices to moisturizing salves.

Slippery Elm is SO Good

I love this Slippery Elm as a tea. It smells and tastes wonderful. Shortly after I received the bark I developed a nasty sinus condition (allergies and Canadian fires). My throat was raw and it hurt to swallow. I was using another Farm House blend and added the slippery elm to it. Such a relief. I also have a tincture brewing for future use. Thank you, Farm House Teas.
