Hop Flowers (Humulus lupulus) are well known as a classic ingredient in brewing, but these whole dried flowers are also a versatile staple in the homestead apothecary. Their slightly bitter, earthy flavor and calming aroma make them useful beyond the brew kettle.

Traditionally, hops have been steeped into teas, infused in oils, or added to sachets and pillows for their relaxing qualities. In the kitchen, they bring a unique herbal bitterness to homemade recipes and beverages.

A little help

I was looking for hops for tea and tincture. I can trust CeAnne for product quality not always happy with the price. I could get it elsewhere for less but I am choosing to support this website.

First Time for Hops Tea

This year I've been being more adventurous with trying different teas. Hadn't been sleeping well of late, and decided to try hops tea to see if it would help relax me before bedtime. It is quite bitter, but slowly sipping on a cup for about a half hour did help me relax and stop all the whirling thoughts in my head that usually keeps me awake. Thank you for another great tea adventure!
