Ready to make your own herbal bitters but don’t want to gather all the individual herbs and supplies? This DIY Digestive Bitters Kit brings the essentials together in one place—from our pre-blended nine-herb Digestive Bitters Tincture Mix to tincture bottles, cheesecloth, and a step-by-step guide.

Choose 3 or 6 tincture bottles, add your own 100-proof alcohol, and you’re ready to get started. Prefer an alcohol-free preparation? The included guide also provides separate instructions for using vegetable glycerin, which can be added to your order below.

What's Included in the DIY Digestive Bitters Kit?

  • 1 Digestive Bitters Tincture Mix – 4.8 oz pre-blended dry botanical mix that makes 2 batches
  • 3 or 6 tincture bottles – choose your preferred quantity
  • Unbleached cheesecloth – for straining your finished herbal extract
  • FREE step-by-step tincture-making guide – includes alcohol and glycerin methods, measurements, extraction instructions, and tips for getting the best results
  • FREE tincture label printable
  • FREE BONUS! Homesteader Pantry Herbs Ebook VALUE $20.00
  • Free Shipping on orders of $59 to the U.S. Value $12+

You provide: 100-proof alcohol or vegetable glycerin and a clean jar for extraction.

What You'll Need to Make Your Bitters

For each batch, use 2.4 oz (approximately 68 g) of the herbal mix with 12 fl oz (1½ cups) 100-proof alcohol and follow the included guide.

Making both batches with alcohol requires 24 fl oz (3 cups) total.

Want to use vegetable glycerin instead? Follow the glycerin-specific measurements and instructions included in your guide. Glycerin produces a sweeter, alcohol-free extraction and does not extract the botanicals in exactly the same way as alcohol.

Pro Tip: A small tincture bottle funnel makes transferring your finished bitters much easier. Vegetable glycerin and tincture bottle funnels are available as optional add-ons below.

Suggested Uses

Once your homemade bitters are finished, you can:

  • Add a small amount to sparkling water for a bitter botanical drink after a meal
  • Mix with fizzy water and a squeeze of fresh citrus
  • Stir into homemade mocktails for an herbal, bitter note
  • Enjoy a small serving on its own before a meal

Store in an airtight container away from temperature extremes and sunlight.

For adult use only. This kit contains a dry botanical mix intended for at-home extraction and is not a finished tincture or dietary supplement. Alcohol and vegetable glycerin are not included unless separately added to your order. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before using herbal preparations if pregnant or nursing, taking medications, or if you have a medical condition. Keep out of reach of children.
