Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) has traveled the globe, with a long history of use in kitchens and apothecaries from Asia to Africa to the Caribbean. This chopped dried root is known for its warm, pungent, and spicy-sweet flavor that enlivens both sweet and savory recipes.

Use ginger to brighten soups, stews, sauces, and baked goods, or brew it into herbal teas and infusion blends for a comforting, zesty kick. Its woody, fibrous texture makes it ideal for crafting tinctures, liquid extracts, infused oils, salves, balms, and liniments, making it a staple in both the kitchen and the homestead apothecary.

Love my ginger

I rarely make a tea blend without adding in some ginger. It adds just enough spice to the tea. It's antimicrobial and also helps stimulate digestion. Visually, ginger also beautifies a tea blend. Ginger is something you never want to run out of!
