Rose Petals (Rosa canina), also called Dog Rose, are delicate dried petals that bring beauty, fragrance, and a touch of elegance to both kitchen and craft. These petals carry a gentle floral flavor and subtle sweetness, making them an excellent addition to teas, baked goods, and culinary infusions.

Traditionally valued across many cultures, rose petals are also a favorite in homestead apothecaries for crafting soaps, lotions, oils, and salves. Their vibrant color and soft texture make them just as useful for potpourri and household crafts as they are for sipping in a calming tea.

Everyday Uses on the Homestead

  • Steep into floral teas or add to tea blends

  • Use in baked goods such as cookies, breads, and cakes

  • Infuse into oils, lotions, or salves for skin care

  • Sprinkle into salads or use as edible garnish

  • Incorporate into potpourri, bath bags, or handmade crafts

Beautiful

I just love using these rose petals when blending my own herbal teas. They add a bright pop of color to the tea and the aroma is simply amazing. The heart calming effects add a wonderful touch to any relaxing/calming tea blends.

Blended with others to make "Anxie-tea"

Got a recipe from FHT for a tea blend that works for anxiety. My daughter is getting married in summer and she's been very stressed out about the plans, work and other things in her life. I have a very stressful job and some nights lose sleep because of it. I blended the tea as instructed (made 3 batches) and split between my daughter and myself. I missed one night of drinking a cup before bed and yes, I woke up in the night. This tea works great. The tea is a beautuful pink and the wonderful rose scent is heavenly. Good "quali-tea"!

A gift for myself

I purchased the rose petals to make face wash and body cream for myself. When I opened the bag I just wanted to sit in a quiet place and smell the flowers. Which I did, it was so relaxing and I thought maybe I could make a sleep pillow. So now I need to figure out how to make a sleep pillow. Maybe CeAnne will know how…..
