Cassia cinnamon sticks (Cinnamomum cassia) are the bold, robust variety most commonly found in American kitchens. With their spicy-sweet flavor and aromatic depth, these sticks have been a favorite for centuries in both sweet and savory dishes.

Their sturdy structure makes them perfect for simmering in teas, ciders, mulled wines, and sauces, where the cinnamon can slowly release its warming flavor. Cassia sticks can also be broken into smaller pieces for spice blends or ground fresh for baking.

Ingredients: Organic Cassia cinnamon

Are all of your ingredients organic?

We love providing herbs that are fresh, pure, and of the highest quality. Whenever possible, we source from small family farms that grow with care for the land. Some of our partners are USDA-certified organic, while others practice organic methods but choose not to certify due to the cost.

Because our own facility is not USDA-certified, we don’t label our finished products as “organic.” Instead, you’ll see “organic” noted in the ingredient lists when that particular ingredient was grown on a certified organic farm. We want to stay transparent while still offering you the cleanest, most responsibly grown ingredients we can find.

We’re grateful to support local growers, and we believe that when ingredients are raised with integrity, you can taste and feel the difference in every cup.

Herbs are legally sold by the ounce but often we get asked how many cups are in a bag.

This herb has an approximate average of 3 cups per pound.

Cassia cinnamon sticks can be:

  • Simmered in stews, curries, and sauces for depth of flavor
  • Ground fresh into cookies, cakes, or breads
  • Blended into spice mixes for BBQ, baking, or everyday cooking

Store in an airtight container away from temperature extremes and sunlight.

Use in moderation. Large amounts of cassia cinnamon may contain higher levels of naturally occurring coumarin. Consult a qualified healthcare provider before using in excess if managing a medical condition.
